Vaude's aim is to keep their economic policies in balance with our social and environmental responsibility. We call this sustainability.
Vaude unites the following sustainability themes into a comprehensive "Ecosystem" concept: Products and Production, Materials & Technologies, Energy, End of Product Life, Biodiversity, Partners & Networks and Social Responsibility.
The Vaude ecosystem is designed for improvement on two levels: first, what we can do as a company, and secondly, in product development.
The entire Vaude ecosystem is integrated within the Vaude Environmental Management and is annually reviewed by an independent verifier for EMAS and ISO14001 certification.
Green Shape
Green Shape is VAUDE’s quality label for products that feature special ecolo-gical manufacturing. VAUDE has the strictest criteria for Eco Products in the entire outdoor branch.
The entire VAUDE Collection Summer 2012 has already attained 30% Green Shape Products – over half of the Apparel Section is Green Shape!
International monitoring of labor practices
Vaude takes its social responsibility seriously towards all people connected to the family enterprise, including in all locations where our products are made. In order to guarantee independent and transparent monitoring of these working conditions worldwide, VAUDE is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation.
Vaude is a Partner of WWF Germany
VAUDE is committed to conserving nature and protecting it for the outdoor experience. We have found the ideal partner to further this cause: the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). This association is one of Germany’s largest independent environmental conservation organizations.
1% of revenues generated from the VAUDE Green Shape Collection flows directly into WWF projects for children and teens.
